It has been a few days since Georgia Tech returned home after an unfortunate loss to Jabari Parker and the Duke Blue Devils, but the schedule doesn’t let up too much, as they face-off with Notre Dame on Saturday. The Irish arrive in Atlanta with a 10-5 record, but they’ve been a bit schizophrenic this season, having beaten Duke last week while losing at home to NC State on Tuesday.
The Irish are led by a potent offense, as they rank in the top-40 nationally in efficiency, scoring 113.1 points per 100 possessions, and that’s been a staple for Mike Brey and company. Guard Jerian Grant leads the way for ND with over 19 points per game, and he’s been incredibly efficienct, shooting north of 51% from the floor and 40% from three this season. He’ll surely be the focal point of Brian Gregory’s defense in this one, and if he goes off, it’ll be big-time trouble.
The experts in Las Vegas have installed Notre Dame as a 1-point favorite in the game, but that’s a bit of respect for how Tech is capable of playing in their home building. In all honesty, the Irish are probably the better and more talented team, but with a lively crowd behind them, Tech could certainly come alive and win an important ACC game here.
Stay tuned for more information as it arrives, and we will bring you a recap after the final buzzer sounds.
