It was a huge week for Mark Fox and the Georgia basketball program, and that was further illustrated by an individual award handed out on Monday.

Sophomore guard Charles Mann has been given SEC Player of the Week honors after his incredible performances in the undefeated week, and he is certainly deserving of that praise. Mann began the week with a 18-point, 6-rebound, 4-assist effort to help the team to a shocking upset win in Missouri, and on Saturday, the 6-foot-5 guard from Alpharetta had an even bigger game.

Mann got to the line 17 (!!) times (making 13 of them) in route to 22 points in the win over Alabama, and he wasn’t done there, adding 7 rebounds while playing 38 of the possible 40 minutes. It was been a very good sophomore campaign, especially in the shooting department, for Mann, and he has alleviated all questions about his scoring prospects that arose when he shot 34.6% from the field as a freshman.

This may be the last “player of the week” award that a Bulldogs player sees this season, but Mann played lights-out ball in both wins, and as a result, the Dawgs are 2-0 in SEC play.
