Unsurprisingly, tonight’s Atlanta Hawks game against the Detroit Pistons has been delayed due to the crazy weather/traffic that’s going on in Atlanta.

Apparently, the Pistons were having trouble traveling to Atlanta–which is no surprise. Unless you’ve been ignoring the news, hundreds of people in the city had an extremely difficult time getting home from work and school yesterday, with many people being forced to abandon their cars and walk the rest of the way to their homes.

Unfortunately, our very own Brad Rowland was in that exact situation. Here are some of the details about how bad the traffic really was and still is:

  • His trip home from work is just 14 miles. It took him 11 hours to get home (2 p.m. to 1 a.m.).
  • Throughout those 11 hours, he wasn’t able to go more than 10 miles per hour.
  • He wound up having to park on the highway and walk the last two miles home.

Clearly there are bigger problems in the city than a basketball game being delayed, but since we’re an Atlanta sports blog and not the AJC, we’ll keep you updated on game news and let the pros keep you updated on the weather.

Stay warm and safe everyone, and if you need help, just call Chipper Jones.
