It has been a very nice (and unexpected) week for Mark Fox and the Georgia Bulldogs, and they will be looking to keep it going as they enter a home tilt with Texas A&M on Saturday night. On Thursday, the Dawgs got one of their best wins of the season, as they outlasted a very solid LSU team by a 13-point margin. Still, the schedule never ceases in conference play, and UGA is back at it just 48 hours later.
The visiting Aggies have had a bit of a rough season, especially on the offensive end. A&M is outside of the top 300 (not a misprint) in the country in scoring (65.6 points per game) and their efficiency numbers aren’t much better at 97.5 points scored per 100 possessions. However, they are very solid defensively as a top-50 club, and when you combine that with what had been a struggling UGA offense before Thursday night, it’s an interesting recipe.
Our close, personal friends in the desert have installed Georgia as a 5.5-point favorite in the game (and KenPom projects a 5-point victory), which represents a bit of change from being a perpetual underdog. Still, Texas A&M is thoroughly capable of rising up and knocking off the Dawgs, and it’ll take a solid effort to hold serve at home.
Stay tuned for updates as they arise.
