On Monday afternoon, the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (also known as the ACC media) announced its All-ACC teams for men’s basketball, and there was a familiar face on the 3rd team from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Senior center Daniel Miller was selected to the All-ACC 3rd team after having, by far, his best season as a member of the Georgia Tech program. Miller appeared (and started) in all 31 contest for the Jackets this season, and he led the team in both total rebounds (244 with a 7.9 per game average) and blocked shots (77 with a 2.5 per game average). He was the focal point of everything that Tech was able to accomplish offensively, but more than that, he was able to improve his offensive game tremendously in his fourth season on campus.

The veteran big man had never posted double-figures in scoring in his career, but that changed as a senior when he averaged 11.3 points on a career-best 58.9% from the floor, and things peaked with a 21-point, 14-rebound explosion against NC State back on January 26th. It was amazing to see the transformation from “fringe role player” to “consistent stud”, and if there was a team MVP award, Miller would be at the top of the list.

Congratulations!
