The Georgia Bulldogs are headed to No. 6 LSU this weekend to try and work their way up the Eastern Division in the SEC. The Dawgs played their first conference weekend series last week and dropped two of three to Mississippi State in Athens. After that series, the Bulldogs went on the road and pummelled Presbyterian 11-0 Tuesday night to grab some momentum for this weekend.

And they’ll definitely need it.

LSU is one of the better baseball programs in the country and it’s been like that for years. I hate to be too pessemistic about UGA baseball, but I feel like it would be a win for them simply avoid a sweep over the weekend. This series is also the first weekend the team has been on the road since a shortened trip to Tallahassee back in February.

LSU is hitting .288/.379/.406 as a team, but their pitching has been even more impressive. The Tigers are holding opposing hitters to just a .216 average and they have allowed just 42 earned runs over 192.1 innings pitched (1.97 ERA). The Bulldogs are likely outmatched in this one, but it would great to see them make me look stupid and pick up a big series win against one of the best teams in the nation.
