It is a well-known fact at this stage that Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton has been scorching hot with the bat, and his recent outburst of production has resulted in him being named as the National League Player of the Week.

As noted by the official Braves Twitter account above, Upton has been borderline ridiculous in virtually every batting category in recent days, and his production has helped the offense, especially during the well-chronicled sweep over the Nationals. His talent level has never been in question, and this is the realization of just how high his ceiling can be when Upton’s swing is locked in.

Still, there is a small bit of skepticism, simply given his streak-prone approach in the past. In April of 2013, Justin put up a 1.136 OPS (!!!!) and 12 home runs during the month of April, and unfortunately, the bottom came out shortly after that with back-to-back months with a sub-.700 OPS in May and June.

Justin Upton has been knocking the cover off of the ball for days now, and let’s all cross our fingers and hope this continues.
