Because the game took place in the wee hours of the morning on the East Coast, many people likely missed that the Atlanta Braves fell to Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants on Monday night, but they will have every opportunity to bounce back during a late night contest on Tuesday.

Left-hander Mike Minor takes the ball for Atlanta, and it will be only the third start of the season for last year’s staff ace. However, Minor was beaten up to the tune of six earned runs in just 4.1 innings in his last outing against the Cardinals, and it will be intriguing to see how he performs against an admittedly weaker offense in San Francisco.

Even if Minor pitches well, though, the Braves will be charged with awakening the bats once again. B.J. Upton had a strong night against Lincecum and company on Monday, but aside from his effort and a late home run from Freddie Freeman, there was very little to write home about. Fortunately, the Giants will send arguably their least effective starter to the mound in Ryan Vogelsong, and perhaps Atlanta can avenge a loss against him from earlier in the season.
