Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves preview: Aiming to keep momentum
By Brad Rowland
UPDATE: The Braves have released the lineup for Monday’s game, and there are no major surprises. This should quiet all of the Dan Uggla chatter… at least for one more day.

After Sunday’s wild and topsy-turvy victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Atlanta Braves return to Turner Field on Monday night, as they open a four-game series against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers. The Braves maintain a slim lead in the NL East after their somewhat unlikely win in the finale, but the schedule doesn’t let up, as Milwaukee has played quite well this season.
Monday’s opener will serve as Mike Minor’s fourth start of the season, and it has been a mixed bag for Atlanta’s left-hander. He was excellent in shutting down the offense of the Giants in his last outing, but prior to that, Minor was roughed up for six runs, and he seems to still be getting his feet wet at this stage of the year. Milwaukee’s offense is right-hand driven as well, which could present some challenges for Minor and Atlanta’s run prevention unit.
On the opposing mound will be right-hander Wily Peralta, who has been lights-out for the Brewers this season. In eight starts and more than 50 innings, the 25-year-old has compiled an ERA of just 2.05, and that has been mostly attributed to a much improved walk rate (1.71 per 9 innings). Atlanta was incredibly patient at times during Sunday’s win, and they’ll need to exercise that type of approach again in order to be successful against Peralta and Milwaukee.
Here is a look at the particulars for Monday:
