The secondary for the Georgia Bulldogs took a hit over the off-season with the high-profile transfer of starting safety Josh Harvey-Clemons to Louisville. Unfortunately, it appears that Harvey-Clemons will be joined on the transfer line in exile by rising junior safety Tray Matthews.

Matthews took to his personal Twitter account on Tuesday by expressing that he’s headed to either Auburn or Louisville, and while there has been no official word, two of the leading UGA insiders echoed the sentiment.

In addition to the “announcement” from Matthews, his teammate, wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley had this ironically timed tweet in response.
There will certainly be more information on this in the coming hours and days, but for now, we know that Jeremy Pruitt and company will be searching for a new starting safety for the 2014 season.
