Mark Fox and the Georgia Bulldogs have had a difficult time locking down some of the top names in local high school basketball, but as of Monday morning, the tide may be shifting. Fox and his staff have reportedly convinced Athens Christian point guard Will “Turtle” Jackson to flip his commitment from defending national champion UConn to become a member of the Bulldogs beginning in 2015.
Just got off the phone with Will Jackson. He confirms the news. "I’m going to UGA."

It is important to note that absolutely nothing is official with this verbal commitment, but if it holds, it would be a fantastic get for the program. The 6-foot-4 point guard is ranked as a four-star recruit by Scout.com, who also pegs him as a top-40 overall player in the Class of 2015, and with ESPN not far behind by pegging him as a three-star player and a top-25 point guard in the class, there is reason for optimism.
As a junior, Jackson averaged more than 23 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds (!) per game last season, and with some of the depth questions on the current roster, there is reason to believe that could make an immediate impact for the 2015-2016 season. Stay tuned.
