Last night, the Atlanta Braves announced that they had recalled Triple A infielder Phil Gosselin from Gwinnett, and that they would make a corresponding move in the morning. Well, that move has been made, and it was one that caught almost everyone off guard.
Dan Uggla is being suspended for one game:

This would be extremely odd if nothing else came from the suspension, but for now we’ll just have to wait until the organization gives out more details. Bowman tweeted some of the possible reasons for a suspension:
The #Braves will reveal more details regarding Uggla's one-game suspension. These are often a product of showing up late or insubordination

In the meantime, the Atlanta Braves can look forward to seeing the 25-year-old Gosselin possibly getting some action. In 88 games with Gwinnett, Gosselin has posted a .345/.381/.494 triple slash, 142 wRC+ with five home runs and six stolen bases.
Let us know what you think about the decision to call up Gosselin and suspend Uggla. Do you think there will be any further moves regarding Uggla’s status with the Atlanta Braves? How long will Gosselin hang around? There’s a lot of interesting stuff to delve into here, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on everything.
