After some speculation (some to the contrary), the Atlanta Hawks and free agent point guard Shelvin Mack have agreed to a three-year contract.
Free agent guard Shelvin Mack has reached agreement on a three-year, $7.3M deal to return to Atlanta, league sources tell Yahoo.

While Adrian Wojnarowski snatched the headlines by seemingly “breaking” the deal as usual, it was actually Mack himself that first posted the news via Twitter.
Blessed to have a few more years with the Atlanta Hawks......#thinkpositive http://t.co/prp4eHmQtd

In his full report, Wojnarowski indicates that the three-year pact includes a team option on the final season, which is an unequivocal win for the Hawks in the negotiation. After all, Atlanta already holds the rights to young point guard Dennis Schröder, who was fantastic in Las Vegas, as well as Jeff Teague on an extremely reasonable 4-year, $32 million deal.
The 24-year-old Mack had easily the best season of his career in 2013-2014, when he supplanted Schröder as the backup point guard in route to 7.5 points and 3.7 assists per game. Some people may worry about whether Mack is truly the player we saw in Atlanta this season or whether he will regress toward his days with the Wizards, but Mack will likely earn this payday if he resembles himself from last season.
