Atlanta Braves release new Cobb County stadium renderings
By Brad Rowland
It has been a few months since the Atlanta Braves released updated renderings of what their new home in Cobb County will look like, but on Wednesday, the latest concepts surfaced. The Atlanta Business Chronicle posted the images on their website, and as you may expect, the project is looking more and more complex while simultaneously inspiring excitement, despite the fact that the new building will not open until 2017.
There are twelve different images to take in, but perhaps the most interesting part of the development would be the water in right field. This is displayed in a handful of the images, and while it would certainly be a manmade creation, adding that element of “natural” surrounding would potentially enhance the experience, especially for those more casual fans.
On Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Braves are set to announce the development team for the entire land-use project that will cover hundreds of millions of dollars, and the latest images would seemingly back up that claim. Regardless of push back throughout the baseball and/or government worlds (especially in Cobb County), the Atlanta Braves are churning forward toward the opening of a brand new ballpark, and the pure baseball fan will likely enjoy it in a significant way.
