Update: Alex Marvez reports that Carimi suffered only an ankle sprain. This would be incredibly positive news.

It has been a rough couple of days from an injury perspective for the Atlanta Falcons. First, both Terren Jones (who has entered the league’s concussion protocol) and Ra’Shede Hageman suffered injuries on Monday, and now, offensive lineman Gabe Carimi has suffered an injury that was well-chronicled on Twitter.
Carimi is down as trainers attend to him. Leg looked like it just gave out on him. #aftc14

Carimi, a multi-year veteran, was signed back in February as a depth move with potential upside, and in recent days, it has been indicated that he is a virtual lock to make the final, 53-man roster. However, Carimi’s status on the roster would certainly be up in the air if the injury were deemed to be serious, and with a player with a long list of previous ailments, that is certainly up in the air.
Mike Johnson and, potentially, Lamar Holmes would be in line for better position if anything should come of the Carimi injury, but for now, Falcons personnel are certainly hoping for a positive report on his status.
