Report: Georgia Bulldogs LB Ramik Wilson misses practice; could have concussion

Earlier in the week, word broke that Georgia Bulldogs star linebacker Ramik Wilson was sitting out practice for undisclosed reasons. However, Seth Emerson of The Macon Telegraph and Columbus Ledger-Enquirer sheds some interesting light on a potential reason why Wilson continues to remain on the sidelines as of Thursday afternoon.

Emerson falls short of stating, at least in full, that Wilson has a concussion, but this would make sense given the length of his absence from the field. In addition, head coach Mark Richt was plain in announcing that the team would not be releasing any real injury information, at least for the time being, and as such, sketchy reports could become the norm surrounding the Bulldogs this season.

Obviously, any long-term absence for Wilson (who led the SEC in total tackles during the 2013 season) would be an issue, but if it is a concussion, protocols would suggest that he could be back in the near future. Still, any time Ramik Wilson is on the sidelines for the Georgia defense isn’t a good thing for Bulldog Nation, and this is a situation to closely monitor in the coming days.
