After a disappointing, 16-17 season that saw the Jackets sitting on the sidelines during postseason play, there is real concern about what this year’s group will resemble after the loss of Trae Golden, Daniel Miller and Robert Carter to graduation and/or transfer. The match-up with Northwestern is a winnable one, however, as the Wildcats finished the 2013-2014 season with an unsightly 14-19 record, and have the dubious distinction of never reaching the NCAA Tournament in its current form.
There will be plenty of time to break down the likes of Chris Bolden, Travis Jorgensen (the presumptive starting point guard) and the best returning player, Marcus Georges-Hunt, but for now, Georgia Tech can fans can take solace in a primetime TV match-up in early December against a mediocre opponent.
