Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Wofford Terriers preview
College football is here at last! Here at ATL All Day, we understand just how seriously you guys take your college football and so we’re pretty excited that the games are actually about to start happening. We’ve had some fun doing our previews for both Georgia Tech and Georgia, but nothing compares to the real thing.
For the Yellow Jackets, that means a season opener that, while certainly not on the same level as the Georgia-Clemson game, is sure to be extremely interesting.
Opponent: Wofford Terriers

Georgia Tech Offense vs. Wofford Defense
Simply because of the opponent, neither of these matchups should pose too much of an issue for the Yellow Jackets, but stranger things have certainly happened before.
For the first game of the season, we should really just be looking to see how the new “simplified” triple-option offense will work under Justin Thomas. It’ll be nice to see what he’s able to do with his legs and (even more interesting) with his arm, and we’ll get a glimpse at how Paul Johnson is planning on using his stable of “running backs.”
The biggest question mark of our offensive preview for Tech though, is the offensive line and while any positives will be taken with a grain of salt, it’s important for the group to get some momentum and confidence going early.
Georgia Tech Defense vs. Wofford Offense
While Tech’s defense is normally always at the back of people’s minds because of the triple option, there are plenty of things to look out for here against one of the few teams that will also be running a triple-option.
Last season the Terriers 21.2 points per game while going 5-6 in the Southern Conference.
This probably isn’t the best matchup to get the defense going because of the scheme and the FCS level of competition, but I suppose there’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ fashioned warm-up game to get the team excited right?

While it’s “interesting” that both teams will be running a triple-option in this game, I’m really only going to be paying attention to how the Yellow Jackets manage to run their offense. Sure, I’ll watch the defense and see how it looks, but there’s only so much I’d be willing to take away from this game on that side of the ball.
Stay tuned for post-game coverage, and a live game thread that will open on Saturday morning. Check it out!
