The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 2-0 after an impressive win on the road against Tulane, and on Saturday, Paul Johnson’s club returns to Bobby Dodd Stadium for an in-state battle against the Georgia Southern Eagles. The aforementioned Johnson presents the largest connection between the two teams, as he was a national championship winning coach while in Statesboro, but aside from that, Georgia Southern presents a potentially dangerous match-up for the Jackets.
As you may imagine, Georgia Tech currently stands as a 17-point favorite against the visiting Eagles, with Vegas displaying some confidence in the Jackets, especially in the midst of what has been an impressive start to the 2014 season from Georgia Southern. With that said, this isn’t your traditional “patsy” situation in Atlanta, and Georgia Southern is certainly capable of threatening a victory if the hometown team does not live up to expectations.
