Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates preview: Alex Wood vs. Gerrit Cole

If you have been asleep for the last couple of days, things have gotten crazy for the Atlanta Braves. First, the team was officially eliminated from the playoffs following an epic collapse, then the organization inexplicably decided to part ways with general manager Frank Wren (while simultaneously hanging on to manager Fredi Gonzalez), and for kicks, the Braves dropped their series opener in shoutout fashion against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

On Tuesday, the same two teams will face off in the second tilt of a four-game slate, and the pitching match-up between young guns Alex Wood and Gerrit Cole should bring a bit of attention to the festivities. However, morale is extremely low in Braves Country at the moment, and to be frank, the great majority of the fan base has unplugged from the ins and outs of the 2014 campaign in favor of gazing toward the future.
