Georgia Bulldogs remain without three wide receivers against Tennessee

The Georgia Bulldogs have yet to field a full compliment of wide receivers during the 2014 season, and unfortunately, it appears as if that trend will continue on Saturday against the Tennessee Volunteers. The trio of Malcolm Mitchell, Justin Scott-Wesley and Jonathon Rumph will all be sidelined for the game, with Vanderbilt as their target date for return.

Both Mitchell and Rumph are hampered by injury woes, as neither has appeared in a game this season as a result of knee and hamstring issues, respectively, but the issue is not as cut and dry for Scott-Wesley. Seth Emerson of the Macon Telegraph reports that the wide receiver has been serving a four-game suspension for marijuana, in addition to recovering from injury problems in the off-season.

"Both Mitchell and Scott-Wesley have been working their way back from ACL injuries, although separate issues are keeping them from the field. Mitchell had his knee scoped in late July after a setback during offseason drills. Scott-Wesley has been serving a suspension for a second violation of UGA’s marijuana policy, per sources. (A second violation brings a four-game suspension, and Scott-Wesley has missed the first three games of this season.)"

Throughout the first trio of game, the Dawgs have been heavily reliant on their running attack, and frankly, that has been quite successful. Still, it would be beneficial for Mike Bobo and Hutson Mason to have healthy options across the board, and to this point, the saving grace has been the presence of veterans Chris Conley and Michael Bennett.
