Harry Douglas among inactives for Atlanta Falcons
By Brad Rowland
For the second consecutive game, the Atlanta Falcons will be without their full compliment of offensive weapons, as wide receiver Harry Douglas has been announced as inactive for the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The 30-year-old Douglas was forced to exit Atlanta’s blowout win over Tampa Bay as a result of a foot injury, and he was listed as “questionable” in advance of the game. For the season, the former Louisville and Jonesboro High School star has 12 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown, but with the advancement of Devin Hester on the offensive side of the ball, there is a school of thought that Douglas has morphed into the number four wide receiver for Matt Ryan and the offense.
In a match-up where both Julio Jones and Roddy White are (theoretically) healthy, the loss of Douglas is relatively minimal, but at the same time, there is a bit of a dip between Douglas and either Eric Weems or Courtney Roby on the outside in multiple wide receiver sets. Because he was listed as questionable for this game, there is little reason to suggest that Douglas will be out for a long period of time, but until he officially returns, the Falcons will be operating short-handed.
