On the heels of back to back losses, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are on the road this week, as they face off against the Pittsburgh Panthers in a treacherous spot. Paul Johnson and company are very much alive in what is a wide open race for the ACC Coastal Division title, but at the same time, the Georgia Tech defense has been comically ineffective at times over the past two weeks, and as a result, it could be difficult for some Jackets fans to envision a lights-out performance in a hostile environment.
In this match-up, Georgia Tech is currently listed as approximately a 3-point underdog in this game (depending on where you look, it could be as many as four points), which would clearly indicate that the general perception of this team falls approximately even with Pittsburgh, as the three-point swing could be attributed to home field advantage. In our full preview from earlier in the week, Carlos Collazo took a deeper dive at this match-up, but Paul Johnson was quick to praise the Pittsburgh defense during press conference comments earlier in the week, and the Panthers have one of the best offensive weapons in America in the form of running back James Conner.
