It has been a running joke in this space surrounding the fact that the Atlanta Falcons seem to be in a “must win” game each and every week. However, this Sunday’s game is quite interesting, even to casual viewers, as the team is in London to face the Detroit Lions in an early morning contest for those of us in the United States. In our full preview from Friday morning, we took a deeper look at what has been a dominant Lions defense, and for the Falcons to have any chance of snatching an unlikely victory, the offensive line must perform substantially better, regardless of what players are being deployed up front.

While the line could certainly move before kick-off, the leading odds-makers (both in Vegas and off-shore) have the Falcons as anywhere between a 3 and 3.5-point underdog in this game, which is troubling when you consider that Atlanta is actually the “home” team in this spot. Honestly, that number may even be a bit low given the recent performance for both teams, but on the bright side for the Falcons, this is certainly a spot where the general public does not believe that the team can emerge with a much-needed victory.

Stay tuned for post-game analysis, including a full recap shortly after the game, and feel free to sound off by using the comment section of this post as a game thread of sorts.
