Paul Johnson and the Georgia Tech offense will, once again be operating without a full deck on Saturday afternoon. The Jackets have released the injury report in advance of this weekend’s game against NC State, and both running backs Zach Laskey and Charles Perkins will be absent from the proceedings in Raleigh.

In Laskey and Perkins, the team will be missing its second and fourth-leading rushers, respectively, but both players also missed last week’s romp over Virginia, so that provides a window of optimism. Zach Laskey will be missing his third consecutive game after suffering a shoulder injury in the 5-point loss to North Carolina, while Charles Perkins will be out for the second straight week after an ugly knee injury sustained against Pittsburgh.

For the season, Laskey has rushed for 595 yards and a team-leading 5 touchdowns in just seven games, while Perkins has contributed 261 yards on just 24 carries for a team-best 10.9 yards per carry average. The Jackets were led in rushing by Synjyn Days in the win over Virginia, with 147 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, and Georgia Tech will likely be counting on the converted quarterback to spur the rushing attack once again, with a little bit of help from Justin Thomas.

Stay tuned for more coverage as the game approaches.
