After a 20-win season in 2013-2014, expectations are somewhat high for the 2014-2015 edition of the Georgia Bulldogs on the basketball court, and as such, Mark Fox and company will have a lot to live up to this season. On the bright side, Fox’s group returns a great deal of its core from the team that finished 12-6 in SEC play a year ago, and with the conference in turmoil behind the “usual suspects” of Florida and Kentucky, anything is possible.
Still, the Dawgs are still void of the high-end talent that generally marks successful college basketball teams at this level, and that keeps fan interest from swelling to where it should be for an SEC-level program. Winning brings additional eyeballs to the basketball court, however, and there was a bit of an underground movement down the stretch of last season as the team was competing (at least on the fringe) for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament.
In this space, we will preview the 2014-2015 Georgia Bulldogs by breaking down the roster on a few different levels. Let’s get to it.
