The Georgia Bulldogs got back into the win column with a blowout of Chattanooga by the score of 86-55 on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs had control of the game from the opening tip. The Mocs were able to battle back towards the end of the first half to bring the halftime score to 39-32 in favor of Georgia, but that wasn’t nearly enough.

The game broke open in the second half, when Mark Fox’s ball club got off to a 16-2 run. From that point on, the Bulldogs never looked back, and the lead only grew. Georgia had a dominating shooting performance from the field with a 63% shooting from the field, and a sharp, 7-for-11 shooting mark from three-point range.

Four Bulldogs players scored in double figures, and they were led by guard Kenny Gaines with 25 points and 5 of 6 shooting from outside. Marcus Thornton also gave Georgia 24 points and 6 rebounds in their runaway win.

Chattanooga could not get anything going on their home court shooting only 18 of 58 from the field and 7 for 23 from behind the arc. The lone bright spot the Mocs guard Casey Jones who had 19 points on the evening was the only player from Chattanooga in double figures.

Next up for the 4-3 Georgia Bulldogs is a home game against the University of Colorado on December 7th at 12:00 pm ET. Stay tuned to ATL All Day for all the latest, as Mark Fox’s club continues to navigate their non-conference schedule in preparation for upcoming SEC play.
