Georgia Bulldogs grab quality win over Colorado, 64-57

The Georgia Bulldogs improved to 4-0 at Stegeman Coliseum this season with a 64-57 win over Colorado on Sunday afternoon.  Mark Fox’s ball club is now 5-3 overall, and they have won two straight.

The game was tightly contested for the early part of the first half. The Dawgs went on a run before halftime to claim a 34-22 advantage, and from that point, they never looked back.  The Bulldogs held a dominant, 19-9 rebounding advantage at the intermission.

The Bulldogs had a well-rounded effort led by forward Marcus Thornton’s 16 points. Guard J.J Frazier chipped in 15 points off the bench. Guards Juwan Parker and Charles Mann also scored in double figures Georgia.

Colorado was shut down by the Bulldogs suffocating defense. The Buffaloes were held to 35% shooting from the field which included 2 for 17 from 3 point range. Colorado was held without a field for the last 4 minutes of the first half and the first 3 minutes of the second frame. Colorado got a big effort from their preseason Wooden Award Candidate Josh Scott with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Next up for the Georgia Bulldogs is another major conference opponent at home, as they host the Seton Hall Pirates on December 21 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. Stay tuned to ATL All Day for all the latest.
