Report: Mark Richt poised to accept contract extension

On the heels of yet another 10-win season, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt is poised to accept a contract extension, according to a report. Anthony Dasher of UGASports.com brings the following:
"The email, obtained by UGASports.com, thanked Richt for his continued service and offered an update other projects involving the football program, including an indoor practice facility.“I look forward to working alongside Mark in the future and in helping him move our program forward in all areas. We will be working on a contract extension with Mark over the coming days. I know Mark is focused on completing his coaching staff and recruiting,” McGarity said in the email. “Our support staff is also focused on a number of construction projects, including the indoor practice facility and future enhancements to football areas in Sanford Stadium. We will keep you updated on progress in these areas as they develop.”"
Though there is a portion of the fan base who has soured on Richt and his tendencies at this point, the Bulldogs have experienced undeniable success under his watch. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has bolted for the head coaching job at Colorado State, leaving Richt without an offensive voice at this time, but aside from that, stability is in place in Athens, and he can be credited for that.
The Georgia Bulldogs have a strong base in player personnel returning, with Nick Chubb headlining what should be another dynamic offense, and with Jeremy Pruitt in place on the defensive side, the upside is very real for a group that should come together with Leonard Floyd and Lorenzo Carter coming back for another season. Contract details and further knowledge of the agreement is surely to come, but it appears that Mark Richt will be setting up shop in Athens for at least a few more years.
