Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ole Miss Rebels Preview: Aiming for three straight wins
By Brad Rowland
The Georgia Bulldogs are beginning to heat up. Mark Fox’s team is coming off their best win of the season, as they trampled the arch rival Florida Gators in their last contest at Stegeman Coliseum, and on Tuesday, the Dawgs welcome the Ole Miss Rebels to Athens for what should be a highly entertaining battle of conference opponents.
Ole Miss is also entering this contest on the heels of their best win of the year, as the Rebels went into Arkansas and knocked off the ranked Razorbacks on Saturday. However, this is a very beatable Ole Miss team, as they have dropped contests to both TCU and Dayton, in addition to two conference losses already. Our pals at KenPom have installed the Georgia Bulldogs as a 5-point home favorite, and we will see if that holds up on the floor.
The visiting Rebels have boasted one of the best offenses in the country this season, scoring 113.4 points per 100 possessions (18th in America), and the defensive end will be the primary focus for UGA here. The Dawgs will be without Juwan Parker as a result of an achilles injury, and that could prove to be crucial if the bench does not emerge in a quality manner.
Regardless, this is a game that the Georgia Bulldogs need to win to keep their NCAA Tournament resume polished, and protecting home court is vital in that pursuit.
