Georgia Bulldogs vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Preview: Searching for 5 straight

The Georgia Bulldogs are scorching hot, and it is time for the fan base to notice. Mark Fox and his team have won four consecutive games, with the entire quartet coming in SEC play, and that winning streak has put the Dawgs soundly in position to make a run toward the NCAA Tournament.

On Tuesday night, UGA welcomes Vanderbilt to Stegeman Coliseum and the ‘Dores are going in the complete opposite direction. The visitors have lost five straight games to fall to just 11-8 on the year, and as a result, KenPom lists the Bulldogs as an 8-point favorite in the game.

The talent difference isn’t as large as you may expect between these two teams, but UGA has been getting it done from all angles. Reserve guard J.J. Frazier exploded for 37 points (an SEC-best this season) in their last contest, and Georgia is doing all of this short-handed without the services of Juwan Parker. The veteran backcourt of Frazier, Charles Mann and Kenny Gaines has done enough, and with the maturation of Marcus Thornton up front, this is a dangerous club.

The Georgia Bulldogs are rolling right now, and there is no reason to think they can’t hold serve in Athens against a team with equal or inferior talent.
