Report: Dan Quinn agrees to 5-year contract with Atlanta Falcons
By Brad Rowland
The Atlanta Falcons and Dan Quinn have been linked for quite some time, but earlier on Monday morning, word broke that Quinn has reached an “official” agreement on a five-year contract to become the head coach in Atlanta.
Multiple sources, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter, are reporting the news that Quinn will be in Atlanta on Monday to begin work, and this isn’t a surprise. NFL rules maintain that Dan Quinn was not allowed to formally accept the position with the Falcons until after the Seattle Seahawks finished their season, and with an unfortunate Super Bowl loss, that is now the case.
Quinn has done yeoman’s work in Seattle in helping to lead the best defense in the league, and fans of the Atlanta Falcons are looking forward to seeing his imprint in Flowery Branch. Dan Quinn is a virtual unknown from a personality standpoint, at least to the casual fan, but captaining the Seahawks brings immediate credibility, and the fan base appears to be positive on the prospects.
Welcome to town, Dan Quinn…. now, let’s go get some wins.
