Atlanta Braves projected with 73.5-win over/under
By Brad Rowland
It has already been well established that the Atlanta Braves do not have high expectations when it comes to some members of the media for the 2015 season. However, the “real” experts apparently share that relatively low opinion of the team’s potential, as leading online bookmaker Bovada has issued a 73.5-win over-under for the team.
In short, this means that you can place a wager on whether the team will win more than 73.5 games or less than 73.5 games, and for context, the Braves hold the fifth-lowest “projection” in baseball. Less than one week ago, ESPN’s SweetSpot Blog released its initial rankings with Atlanta as the 28th team in the league, and this is yet another slap in the face of competitiveness.
The offense doesn’t look great (at all), but with pitching and defense, 73-plus wins could seem reasonable. What say you?
