Georgia Bulldogs vs. South Carolina Gamecocks preview: Bounce-back in Stegeman
By Brad Rowland
Fresh off perhaps the most embarrassing loss of the season, the Georgia Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday night. Saturday’s 1-point defeat against the lowly Auburn Tigers brought about flashbacks of ugly performances in the past, but Mark Fox’s club cannot afford to let that negative momentum sink them, as the South Carolina Gamecocks come calling in Stegeman Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

Our friends at KenPom.com have installed the Georgia Bulldogs as 6-point favorites in the contest (with both Las Vegas and off-shore outlets in the same neighborhood), but with a double-digit spread on Saturday that went in the wrong direction, nothing seems safe. South Carolina could be a wounded team on the heels of a 34-point blowout loss to Kentucky, but the Gamecocks are much better than that result indicates.
The Georgia Bulldogs still appear to be solidly in the NCAA Tournament field, but in the same breath, the Dawgs cannot afford another home loss to a mediocre opponent. That provides some urgency to this one, and we will see how Georgia responds.
