Georgia Bulldogs blow out Mizzou at home

The Georgia Bulldogs held down home court with a dominating 68-44 blowout of the Missouri Tigers at Stegeman Coliseum. In their most lopsided victory of the SEC season the Bulldogs now improve to 10-6 in conference play and are 19-9 for the season.

The Bulldogs took control of the game from the opening tip. Georgia held Missouri just 5 points in the opening 6 minutes of the half and only 2 of 11 shooting. Their shooting percentage didn not improve over the half as they only shot 25% for entire session.

Mark Fox’s team was very good offensively as 8 of the 9 players who entered the game scored at least one basket, led by Senior forward Nemanja Djurisic’s 9 points and guard JJ Frazier adding 8 points off the bench.

Georgia was able to dominate the Tigers in every phase of the game before the intermission. The Bulldogs controlled the glass with a 25-11 rebounding advantage. The Dawgs limited Missouri’s ball movement as the Tigers only managed 4 assist in the opening session and committed 5 turnovers.

The Dawgs never let their opponents get closer in the 2nd half as they only stretched out their lead and were up by as many as 28 in the final session.

Georgia continued to dominate the game defensively only allowing the Tigers to hit 14 total baskets from the field and holding them to a 28% on field goals for the game. Missouri did not help themselves much as they were only 12-21 from the free throw line today.

In a game where Mark Fox was able to let 14 Bulldogs see action the team had 3 players to reach double digit scoring. The well balanced effort was led by Djurisic’s 14 points as JJ Frazier and Cameron Forte both added in 10 points each.

The Dawgs also saw the return of guard Juwan Parker who was injured in the earlier part of the season.

Missouri was only had 2 players to reach double figures as guard Namon Wright and forward Johnathan Williams III each had 10 points each for the Tigers, who for the most part couldn’t get anything going today.

Next up for Georgia is a major home test as the Dawgs are looking to upset #1 Kentucky in Athens on March 3rd.
