Atlanta Sports News: Georgia Bulldogs Basketball

Bleacher Report – Atlanta Sports News

ATL All Day Editorial Note: Dan Carson of Bleacher Report tries hard to be funny on this report, but in my opinion fails. Many schools do this, and not just in the SEC. Check out his report on the oh-so-controversial, UGA Pamphlet.

UGA Students Received Pamphlet on How to Be Basketball Fans Before Kentucky Game

"This brings us to a pamphlet distributed to Georgia students prior to Tuesday night’s game.ESPN 680 radio host Mark Ennis spotted the pamphlet, which, like other leaflets handed out before basketball games, contains cheering and taunting instructions for the student section. Unlike other handouts, however, it’s essentially a rundown of the ABCs of attending college basketball games."

Atlanta Sports News: Georgia Tech Basketball

AJC – Atlanta Sports News

ATL All Day Editorial Note: I’m not certain you can take much of anything from the spanking Tech took at the hands of UNC, but Ken Sugiura of AJC shares his 3 takeaways from the recent Georgia Tech / UNC game. Check it out.

3 takeaways from Tech-UNC

"Thoughts and observations from Georgia Tech’s 81-49 loss to North Carolina Tuesday night at McCamish Pavilion. AJC.com wrapup here, myajc story here.1. It was a hard-to-believe ending to a hard-to-believe regular season. Tech began the game already without forward Quinton Stephens, out with an abdominal strain suffered in the loss to Clemson Saturday. Then, about three minutes into the game, forward Marcus Georges-Hunt pulled up simply running up the court."

Atlanta Sports News: Atlanta Hawks

NBA – Atlanta Sports News

ATL All Day Editorial Note: My nine year old daughter is good at it, but hates math. I was always both good at it, and loved it too, oddly. I love the math Jaryd Wilson of NBA.com shares as well – about how the Atlanta Hawks have already mathematically clinched a playoff berth. Read on.

The Math Behind the Hawks Having Already Clinched A Playoff Berth

"Many folks, including myself, were confused when the Atlanta Hawks clinched a playoff spot Tuesday night with a win (in amazing come-from-behind fashion by the way) over the Houston Rockets.  After all, the “Magic Number” was 3 going into the game, right?"

Atlanta Sports News: Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Bullpen – Atlanta Sports News

ATL All Day Editorial Note: Before any of you get too excited or angry at the implication of the title below, it’s not a story about Dan coming back to the Braves! Rather it’s a story by Joseph Webster at Atlanta Bullpen, a Braves’ blog. Webster talks about how that dear-departed Dan Uggla might just be making a comeback. Check it out!

Uggla Coming Back?

"Fomer Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla is on the comeback trail. For the Atlanta Braves organization and fans, wouldn’t the ultimate kick in the gut be Dan Uggla getting his hitting stroke back as a Washington Nationals player?Well guess what?  Uggla is in the Nationals spring training camp as a non-roster invitee and well-known sports physicist Robert Donatelli thinks he knows the source of Uggla’s past problems.  Donatelli gained his notoriety by training Andy Roddick andMarquis Grissom."

Atlanta Sports News: Atlanta Falcons

Cover32 – Atlanta Sports News

ATL All Day Editorial Note: I’m not the biggest fan of Atlanta Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan, and to some extend just for the reason for which Michael Jaycox of Cover32 poses the question: Is Matt Ryan the least athletic QB in the NFL?” Maybe not, but I wouldn’t doubt it. Check it out.

Is Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan the least-athletic QB in the NFL?

"Quarterback remains the most-important position in all of sports, but that doesn’t mean it’s not evolving. In fact, the past 10 years have seen a drastic shift in the way success is defined behind center. No longer are quarterbacks asked to simply stand in the pocket and deliver passes to receiver. More and more, they are becoming dynamic, two-way threats, players who can torment opposing defenses through the air and on the ground."
