A Little Background Noise
As a multi-sport athlete before his college career began, Vic Beasley is a Georgia native out of Adairsville High School, and is an athlete, pure and simple. His athleticism alone make him a great fit for the Atlanta Falcons!
Having played more offense than defense in high school, he may not be the fastest or the strongest OLB or edge rush candidate, but if he’s not I’m not quite certain who is among candidates. The numbers in the table below illustrate what the former Clemson Tiger is capable of:

Beasley was a redshirt in 2010-11, and began to pick up speed as a redshirt sophomore in 2012, showing his potential.

In 2013-14 though, he really came into his own as an outside linebacker, grabbing 31 and 28 solo tackles in 2013-14 respectively, and assisting on tackles in those years a total of 18 times over 26 games. His sacks were above a dozen per season, and he dropped opponents for a loss often as a Clemson Tiger.
Beasley’s pedigree is football! His father played for the Auburn Tigers, and Beasley was a 2013 Consensus All-American, and 2014 ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
That pedigree clearly shows in stats such as leading the ACC in tackles for a loss in 2014 with 22 (52 over his college career – also #1), first in the ACC in sacks in 2013 with 13, first in career sacks in the ACC with 33, and first in forced fumbles with 4 in 2013.
