It’s Masters weekend in Augusta, and as usual it’s the most picturesque sporting event all year. Somehow they are able to hide the pollen that engulfs everyone else’s life in the Peach state.

21-year-old up-and-comer Jordan Spieth has been head and shoulders above the rest during the first three days of the tournament. He takes a four shot lead into Sunday at -16. Before his double bogey on 17 Saturday he had reached -18! The record for the best score at The Masters is -18 (which is four days, Spieth reached it in less than three) by Tiger Woods in 1997. Fittingly, Woods was just 21 years old when he set the bar at Augusta National.

Justin Rose will be in the final pairing with Spieth, as he enters Sunday at -12. 44-year-old Phil Mickelson is holding steady at -11 after a great 67 in Round 3. Mickelson, of course, is the king of second place finishes having come runner-up NINE times in majors. He has won The Masters twice (2004, 2006), however, among his five major championships. Charley Hoffman (-10) will be in the second-to-last pairing with Phil.

It appears everyone else may be too far behind for a rally on the final day. Five players including Rory McElroy and Tiger Woods are tied for 5th at -6. So, there’s some star power back there that could make it interesting…we’ll just have to see.

It should be a pleasant day in Augusta as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s, although it will be mostly cloudy. Perhaps not as beautiful as it was on Saturday, but still nice nonetheless.
