It’s was a big weekend in the sports world around the state of Georgia, let’s get started…

Jordan Spieth won The Masters with a record-tying -18. He seems like a great kid, and a really good golfer. Many experts are chomping at the bit to proclaim him as Rory McElroy’s chief rival for the next decade, but we’ll just have to see. One thing is for sure, he loves Augusta National after a 2nd place finish in 2014 and an incredible performance this year to blow away the field.

The Hawks rested all five starters on Sunday night vs. the Wizards, and lost 108-99. It kept the theme of Coach Budenholzer resting the starters on the road and playing them all at home. It will be interesting to see, but I’d imagine the full starting five will be on the floor tonight vs. the Knicks provided Paul Milsap is ready to come back from his shoulder injury.

Check out Soaring Down South’s piece on Kyle Korver. He has been a force this year, and while Stephen Curry gets all the love with his 281 three-pointers made, it’s Korver leading the lead in 3-point percentage (49%) yet again.

Braves fall for the first time this year. Johnny Gomes solo shot to tie the game late made it look like the Braves could pull another one out, but they just couldn’t do it. Still, 5-1 is a remarkable start considering the expectations. The Marlins come to town for a 7:10 first pitch Monday night.

Georgia Bulldogs: spring game shows defense may have caught up with offense.

"One player who made himself very visible was freshman inside linebacker Natrez Patrick, who was credited with one sack in the first half, and made several outstanding plays lining up on the outside. He finished the day with eight tackles and a lot of disruptive play."

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: spring practice is turning into a war of attrition

"After a few weeks of practice, the offensive line depth chart has been decimated through injury, and that was something that Paul Johnson should not have needed to be concerned with going into 2015."
