Injuries are a part of the game of football.  With as physical and as violent as the sport we all love to support in this part of the county, even some of the most talented players can’t evade the injury bug on fall Saturdays.  Here are three Georgia Bulldogs that if they could just stay healthy in 2015, Brian Schottenheimer’s tool shed of offensive weapons will be a lot deadlier.

WR Malcolm Mitchell

Mitchell has been Georgia’s primary vertical threat since he arrived in Athens five years ago.  The former Valdosta Wildcat could absolutely fly down the field.  Had injuries not gotten in the way, Mitchell would have left UGA a year early and been a high draft pick for some team in 2013.  Instead Mitchell had to take a medical redshirt in 2013 and will play in 2015 as a redshirt senior.

It’s been a silver lining for Mitchell as he has become a pillar in the local Athens reading community.  Whether he’s joining book clubs with middle-aged women or promoting literacy at elementary schools across the Athens region, I believe Malcolm is in a better place mentally to handle a potential NFL career after he’s done playing for the Dawgs.

He can still be the vertical threat part in Schotty’s offense, but I can sense that Malcolm Mitchell will play a more cerebral, a more composed style of receiver this fall.  I hoping that Mitchell gets to show the SEC and the College Football world at large all that he is capable of in 2015.

Next: Nick Chubb came to Athens with another Five-Star RB, right?
