RB Sony Michel

Nick Chubb did have another five-star running back in his recruiting class.  His name is Sony Michel.  He’s fast, he’s from Fort Lauderdale, and he’s childhood friends with the Human Joystick Isaiah McKenzie.  When Chubb and Michel both joined the UGA Recruiting Class of 2014, Sony Michel was the lightning to Nick Chubb’s thunder.  And now that we’ve seen that Chubb is more than just rolling thunder as a tailback, Michel must have 4.3 40-yard dash speed.

We did see Sony in limited action this past fall, due in large part to a serious shoulder injury suffered against Troy that sidelined Michel for half of the season.  When Nick Chubb took the world by storm after the infamous Todd Gurley autograph scandal, (man, how did we get through that mentally Dawg Nation…) Sony Michel became just another injured UGA tailback.

His shoulder injury against Troy just seemed weird to me.  Like I didn’t ever really registered to me that he got seriously hurt on a play.  The Georgia Bulldogs were fortunate to allow Michel to rest and recover during his freshman campaign.  I can sense that he is going to love playing for Brian Schottenheimer who really knows how to get guys to make plays in space.  With Sony Michel’s lightning quickness, Georgia could have multiple 1,000 rushers in 2015.
