Okay I get it, Marshall Morgan is a kicker. But special teams are an important part of the game of football. If you don’t think that having a solid placekicker is important, just go ask Ole Miss, Mississippi State, or any diehard Florida State fan on the value of having a kicker than can make field goals.

Morgan has been a consistently strong kicker for the Dawgs the last few seasons. Marshall converts on 78% of his field goal attempts and 97.3% of his extra points as a Georgia Bulldog. Though he rarely kicks the ball out of the back of the end zone on his kickoffs, Morgan’s leg has accounted for 315 points for UGA through his junior year.
I’m not saying that Marshall Morgan is as good of a kicker as Florida State’s Roberto Aguayo, but Morgan definitely continues the excellent tradition of great Dawgs kickers (Kevin Butler, Brandon Coutu, Blair Walsh, etc.). As a senior this fall, I expect Mark Richt to rely on Morgan’s leg at least a few times in crucial late game situations.
