Matt Ryan has been the Atlanta Falcons most accomplished passer and he just turned 30 this offseason.  Matty Ice has led the Dirty Birds to five winning seasons, four playoff berths, two division championships, and one drive away from getting Atlanta back to the Super Bowl.

In his first seven seasons with the Falcons, Ryan has become the franchise’s all-time leader in completions (2,508), passing attempts (3,916), yards (28,166), and touchdown passes (181).  Matt also boasts and impressive win-loss record of 66-44.  It would look even more impressive if the 2013-14 Atlanta Falcons didn’t go a combined 10-22 the last two years.

Ryan is universally recognized as a Top 10 passer in the NFL and has the cerebral approach to the game where he can thrive in any offense he plays in.  Matt has gone to three Pro Bowls as the main man under center for the Atlanta Falcons the last seven years.  Even though he just hit 30, I believe that Matt Ryan still has a good 5-6 years left of prime top-tier passing at the very least for the Falcons.

When his Falcons career does come to a close many years from now, I think that Matt Ryan will not only have given us a championship to celebrate but might have earned his ticket to Canton as one of the all-time great passers the league has ever seen.  Even if Ryan never wins a Super Bowl, he would be in great company with the likes of Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, and Fran Tarkenton.

Being that Ryan eclipsed Bartkowski in most career statistics back in 2013, Matt Ryan will continue to further create separation between him and the pack of Falcons all-time great QB’s.  Unless his eventual replacement is a Young, Rodgers or Luck-type of player, Matt Ryan will stay atop this list for a very, very long time.
