Atlanta Braves: Five All-Star Pitcher Wish List
By John Buhler
Though the Atlanta Braves have been a pitching-first organization since the mid-80’s when then GM Bobby Cox decided to revamp Atlanta’ farm system, I feel that the Atlanta Braves could pursue an All-Star veteran starting pitcher sometime in the next two offseasons before the team travels north up I-75 to play at SunTrust Park in 2017.
Most free agents who have any knowledge of the game of baseball in the last 25 years will hear the Braves out in hypothetical negotiations. If a free agent pitcher wonders what playing in Atlanta can do for his career, all he has to do is look around second level at Turner Field and see all the numbers retired by the Atlanta Braves, most of whom are pitchers enshrined in Cooperstown.

I believe that in John Hart‘s game plan as President of Baseball Operations for the Atlanta Braves is to stockpile assets in the farm system, especially starting pitcher, to have many trade pieces that the organization could move to acquire top-end talent by the start of the 2017 season.
Since tonight is the Mid-Summer Classic, here is part two of my wish list for All-Star starting pitchers I would like to see the Atlanta Braves go after in the next two winters.
