The Atlanta Braves’ setup man has had a rebound year, owning a 2.09 in 44 games played to go along with 20 holds. After a disastrous 2014 season in which he notched a 6.92 ERA, Johnson has come back in 2015 to once again become a premier relief pitcher in the league.
Though Johnson is the logical choice to become closer after the injury to Jason Grilli, his excellent season and experience will no doubt attract a contender looking to add bullpen depth. With the rise of Mike Foltynewicz and long-time top prospect Arodys Vizcaino, the Atlanta Braves will choose to part ways with Johnson to get more prospects and give Vizcaino and/or Foltynewicz a chance to become the closer of the future.
