Despite all the misfortunes the Atlanta Braves have and will undoubtedly experience, they still can compete for a playoff spot. Even if Pierzynski, Maybin and Jim Johnson end up getting traded by the end of July, the organization possesses enough depth to overcome its deficiencies to make things interesting in the division.
The Atlanta Braves have a strong rotation that will keep them in games, and return of Freddie Freeman will soften the blow of losing outgoing players. Though it is not the ideal condition for a team to vie for a playoff spot, it’s what the Braves’ have to work with — and they may surprise some people if we are lucky.
