Okay, boys. Let’s not mess up in the first four weeks of the 2015 regular season. Should the Georgia Bulldogs be undefeated heading into Week 5, GameDay will be in Athens without hesitation. Why might you ask? Because the Georgia Bulldogs will host the SEC powerhouse that is the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The last two times Mark Richt and Nick Saban’s teams met, Dawg Nation had its heart ripped out and trampled by elephants, houndstooth hat-wearing elephants. Two of the most painful losses I’ve experienced as a Georgia fan have come from Saban’s Crimson Tide. The stupid 2008 Blackout Game (GameDay was in Athens then, too…) and the perpetual psychological nightmare that was the 2012 SEC Championship Game. It’s cool Dawg Nation. We’ve accepted that one will hurt for life.

Given that it’s Alabama, the Tide will likely start the year off in the Top 5 as a favorite to win the SEC. Should Georgia and Alabama enter Week 5 unscathed, GameDay could not possibly pass up the opportunity to see two SEC juggernauts that don’t play regularly duke it out in the Classic City.
Where else would ESPN go? To Clemson for the Notre Dame game? To LA for Bruins-Sun Devils? Unless Georgia messes up and starts the year off 2-2, GameDay will be in Athens, GA for Week 5. Better start mentally preparing for a constant onslaught of ‘Roll Tide!’ Hopefully Chubb will hush ’em up early!
