I had a great time in Auburn back in 2013. Then Josh Harvey-Clemons happened and Dawg Nation had its collective tails between their legs.  While the Georgia Bulldogs redeemed themselves in 2014 with a 34-7 drubbing of Auburn at home, the Dawgs will likely need to win this incredibly tough road game to have serious championship aspirations, both conference and national.  The Prayer at Jordan-Hare can’t happen again, can it?

Even on the losing side in Auburn, Alabama, I’ve never been to a more electric away game atmosphere than that fateful November Saturday in 2013.  The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry is unspeakably overlooked for some reason.  It’s time that both sides recognize this annual affair for what it is: one of the best games in College Football every year.

This ‘secondary’ rivalry eclipses most arch rivalries in the college football landscape.  Just about every Dawg has a family member that’s into War Eagle stuff down on the Plains.  With Auburn’s nearest metropolis being Columbus, GA, it’s easy to see how this rivalry is so entrenched in the fabric of College Football that divisional alignment cannot stop this game from happening.

GameDay has some serious decisions to make for Week 11 with so many great games on the day’s slate: Oregon-Stanford in Palo Alto, The 90 Mile Drive (Alabama-Mississippi State) in Starkville, and Oklahoma-Baylor in Waco.  DSOR more than carries its weight in this group of potential locations.  But I’m afraid once again, UGA-AU will continue to get overlooked again in 2015.  If so, what something crazy happen in Jordan-Hare and GameDay will say never again.
