Week 13 for the last half decade has basically been reserved for one in-state rivalry game.  GameDay will likely end up at the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn this year on The Plains.  But let’s assume that ESPN doesn’t want to spend Thanksgiving Week in Alabama this year.  Could GameDay go elsewhere?

While there are so many outstanding final week rivalries in College Football, this year’s version of Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate already has a ton of buzz and might have a ton of bite if both of Georgia’s Power 5 Teams are again in the CFP Top 10 in late November.

Both Georgia and Georgia Tech will contend for conference championships in 2015.  I’m not sure that most Thanksgiving Week rivalries can confidently say that this year.  Probably the Iron Bowl and possibly a few others including USC-UCLA and maybe the Egg Bowl (Ole Miss-Mississippi State) or Ohio State-Michigan.

Though College GameDay will likely make it to Athens (UGA-Alabama) and Atlanta (GT-FSU) this year before Week 13, wouldn’t it be fantastic to have a College GameDay atmosphere in Atlanta with the state’s two Power 5 programs gearing up for potential playoff seeding?

Outside of what we could get with the rematch between Oregon and Michigan State, Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate 2015 could stand as the premier non-conference matchup this year if the Georgia Bulldogs and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets successfully navigate their respectably tough schedules.

Overall, the Georgia Bulldogs have seven games in the regular season schedule that GameDay could come to town.  With one being a near certainty (Georgia-Alabama), I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Dawgs play a road game where ESPN’s College GameDay is also there.  At this moment, it feels like Halloween in Jacksonville will be even more special this year.  I want football season here now!
