I’m of the belief that true sophomore strong safety Dominick Sanders will become the next great defensive back for the Georgia Bulldogs. Sanders was the first player primarily recruited by Jeremy Pruitt and was a late signee to the 2014 UGA Recruiting Class.
As a true freshman and three-star recruit out of Tucker, Sanders commanded our attention with his inspired play in the UGA defensive backfield in 2015. I love his ballhawking skills and his awareness at strong safety for the Dawgs. He is a strong building block for Pruitt these next few seasons.

Though Lorenzo Carter made an impact as a true freshman on the Dawgs’ defense, I feel that Sanders’ strong season in 2014 came as a bit of a surprise to many in Dawg Nation. He rose to the top of the depth chart in a rebuilding year for the Georgia secondary after a mass exodus following former DC Todd Grantham’s departure.
I’m excited to see what type of player Dominick Sanders becomes with at least two more seasons Between the Hedges. When his UGA career comes to a close, Sanders could be as revered as a Bacarri Rambo, Brandon Boykin, even a Scott Woerner, Champ Bailey type of defensive back for the Georgia Bulldogs. I think he’s that special of a player UGA.
